The chemistry database developed by Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry (SIOC) was successively supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission. It is an important part of the "National Science Data Center" of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Science Data Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Scientific Data Service System of Shanghai R&D Public Service Platform.

SIOC chemistry database is the general information system for chemical and chemical engineering research and development. It provides four kinds of services, which are chemical data query, chemical work auxiliary software tools, chemical structure data processing and user consulting service. The chemical data query provides 30 specific services covering chemical structure, properties, crystallography, spectra, reactions, literature, biological activity, traditional Chinese medicine and natural products, medicines, products, and market information, etc. Now the service data is over 20 million records, and the database size exceeds 2 TB. There were more than 210,000 registered users and more than 5 million database page visited in 2020.
